Fall in Gilbert: Farmers Markets, Patio Season, and Gilbert Days

| By Tricia Manara

Fall is when Gilbert finally exhales. The temperature drops, the patios fill back up, and the calendar goes from quiet to completely booked. Winston and I are out every weekend from now through December, and honestly, this is the season I tell buyers to come look, because this is Gilbert at its best. Here is where we are spending the next few months.

Saturday mornings belong to the farmers market

The Gilbert Farmers Market runs every Saturday year-round, rain or shine, and since late 2025 it has been at the Chandler-Gilbert Community College campus at the corner of Gilbert Road and Pecos Road, just across the town line. From October through March the hours are 8 a.m. to noon, which means you can grab coffee, do a full produce lap, and still be home before the day warms up. Heads up for the holidays: it is closed the Saturday after Christmas this year, so plan that weekend.

What I love about it is that it is a real market, not a craft fair with carrots. Local produce, pastries, coffee, and if you bring four legs, it is a dog parade. Winston has opinions about which vendors give out samples, and he is never wrong.

Circle November 21 for Gilbert Days

If you are new to the East Valley, Gilbert Days is the weekend the whole town shows up. The parade runs the morning of Saturday, November 21, through the Heritage District, and that evening the festival takes over Gilbert Regional Park. There is a rodeo that week at Horseshoe Park too, if you want the full Arizona experience.

For buyers, events like this are a free crash course in a neighborhood. Watch a parade crowd and you will see who actually lives here: the families, the retirees, the dog people, the high school marching band. That is community, and you cannot fake it in a listing photo.

Where Winston and I go when it cools off

The Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch on Guadalupe is our favorite walk when the weather breaks. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails, there is actual water, and the birds alone are worth the trip. It is not an off-leash park, so if your dog needs to run wild, we have other spots for that, but for a long, easy morning it is the best walk in 85234.

After the walk, the Heritage District patios are the move. Liberty Market welcomes dogs on its patio and is a favorite stop for lunch, Arizona Wilderness Brewing has a covered patio where leashed dogs are welcome, and Bergies Coffee Roast House is where I take clients for a caffeine refill between showings. Patio season is short. We use it.

Why this matters if you are house hunting

Fall is also prime real estate season, and that is not a coincidence. Sellers list now because buyers are serious, and buyers who tour in October and November see neighborhoods at their liveliest: market mornings, parade prep, neighbors actually outside. If you are planning a move before next summer, the next eight weeks are your best window to see what daily life in Gilbert really looks like.

Want to ride along on a weekend? Schedule a call and I will set you up with a tour of the neighborhoods, and I might even bring the tour guide with the tail. You can also browse more dog-tested spots on my dog-friendly places page. Nice talking to you.
